Your Favorite Vacation

Postby Robrus1 » Mon Jul 15, 2013 10:53 pm

I'm curious. What was the best vacation you ever had? Where did you go, what did you do? I had the best vacation of my life a few weeks ago and I'd like to hear about everyone's experiences. Hopefully I can get some ideas out of you guys/gals.

Vacation? Isn't that something that died out about the time of pensions and job security and getting paid for overtime? I can't remember the last real vacation I had or I'd be glad to share. Most companies today make sure you can't take a vacation - if your time doesn't get sucked up in sick/going to the doctor/etc they will just say we are too busy for you to take a week to recharge right now. And if you don't use it by the end of the year, kiss it goodbye baby (hahaha).

So I'd love to chime in but I have no input. But at least the CEO gets to laugh at me all the way to the bank and that's what counts. And he takes several weeks a year, but he deserves it more than me.

Any place is a good one when the kids are left at home.

But I've really liked St. Maartin, Turks an Caicos, Kauai and Aspen.

Went on safari in South Africa last year. AMAZING. Also have visited the Middle East. Loved it. New Zealand was breathtaking. I've been to so many amazing places I couldn't pick my favourite.

A week sailing around Moorea, Bora Bora, and other islands in French Polynesia on a private sail boat with only us and the captain/crew. Totally awesome experience and cost about the same that people spend on a crowded cruise ship.

I lived in Italy, Germany, and Panama. In Italy, I traveled to Sicily, Mt Vesuvius, Rome, Pompeii, the Coliseum, and the Leaning Tower of Pisa. I've been to resorts in Italy and Panama.

In the US, I stayed at a resort in Orlando with my gf. Eat. drink. Swim. Repeat. It was awesome.
