Why do many people hate Wal-Mart?

Postby Gamma » Sat Jul 13, 2013 7:07 pm

I noticed in alot of forums I visit, people would trash talk Wal-Mart, would rather go buy an item that's much more expensive in another store than Wal-Mart, so on and so forth. I personally enjoy going in Wal-Mart, but would prefer Target just because of the 5% off, unless Wal-Mart has it cheaper after discount. I never really had any bad experience going there. I doubt the vast majority that hate Wal-Mart had such experience that would have them refuse to enter one. How about this forum? I don't really see much people talk about what most people nowadays call Wally World.

I do remember the whole scandal off trying to profit from low level employees deaths. Walmart actually had a financial incentive for their janitors and greeters to die. To be honest, I'd be freaked I might have an "accident" if that were the case....that is pretty much as low as it gets if you really think about it.

I love Walmart, although the one thing I don't like about it is going to Walmart. When I do go to Walmart I know exactly what I am going to buy, I go in, make the purchase and leave. I don't stay to shop around or anything, I get out as soon as I can simply because of the other customers, and sometimes employees, they have. I think people protesting Walmart is just silly to be honest, they are a very transparent company and I believe a company that we can trust.

That last sentence HAS to be sarcasm or humor, right?

Walmart is fine. Big business mentality. Nothing wrong with the products they sell.

I don't know about fine, but you're right on target with your assessment of their mentality.

Nothing wrong with the products they sell.

This depends entirely on your definition of "wrong."

Walmart was one of the biggest retailers of Pink Slime until last year. I think that stuff was wrong, especially given the lack of disclosure about the contents of the product. They also had to recall products more than once for toxic lead content. Those are the top-of-my-head examples.
