Does VZW Owe You Money... Again?

Postby swipe_masta » Mon Jul 08, 2013 7:28 pm

So I read that Verizon lied about how much they actually errorneously charged customers in that lawsuit way back when and now they face another lawsuit because they admitted to only about half of it. This is great cause I got back about 20 bucks the first time around! I wonder how much I will get next?! Did you get a statement credit? Most people I know have Verizon, but only a handful of them got something back.

I got nothing. Which is all I would expect from the likes of Verizon, which is probably the greediest company on the planet. Just like the machine that Bill Gates built, their sole purpose is to suck every possible penny out of you in any way that they can. And to them morality is no concern and legality is scant concern.

I know that if I got sued and lied to the judge to save money, I'd likely be charged with contempt of court and face jail time. But we surely can't punish a business for doing that, that would be un-American. Must be nice to have all the priviledges but none of the responsibilities of being a citizen.

Okay not to rain on your hate parade, but last time the Government decided to go all out in punishing someone for lying they destroyed them.

Remember Arthur Andersen?

Say what you will about the corporations, they know what lines to toe and which ones can be crossed.

Incidentally Verizon Wireless has probably been the best carrier I've ever had. Friendly USA based CSRs, and they honor their mistakes. I was given wrong information about calling from outside the USA and they honored the mistake (Saved me about ~$350)

I really don't get the hate that people have for them.

I already pay them handsomely every month, and have for over 10 years now, which they deserve for the service they provide, HOWEVER they NEVER stop trying to further gouge me. That is what gets me. They tried to tack on a fee for paying online for crying out loud! What the hell do they think they are the DMV charging you a fee to pay them?

That's what gets me. I pay them more than I pay my cable company and usually more than I pay for power, and still it's not enough for these guys. How much is enough for them, 500 a month, 1000, my whole damn check?

They took away unlimited data you can't even pay them to get it now if you change your plan, so intent are they on screwing the living daylights out of you.

And God help you if you cancel your plan early - they have as far as I know the highest penalty for that of any carrier.

I don't hate them, I hate how damn greedy they are. If greed really is virtue they have to be at least Jesus, if not God.

How much are you paying them?? If you don't mind me asking, I have 5 lines all with data and it still amounts to ~$175.

I pay ~134 a month, for ONE IPhone. One. I realize they give you a discount for multiple lines but I live alone and only need/want one.

So yeah, they make money, they don't need to continue to try to gouge the living hell out of me every way possible.

And it's probably not relevant but I use less than an hour a month of voice time, the vast majority of months, few texts and not even that much data for fear my use will push me over my limit and then they'll REALLY rape me for going over.

Maybe now you can see why I'd get a bit irate when they are trying to sock me a fee to pay the bill?

You sir are getting remarkably shafted somehow, even when I only had one line I paid ~80USD for talk text and data. Started with a Droid Incredible.

as a former vzw employee I can attest first hand that it is expected to get some type of revenue from a customer each and every time they enter one of the stores, even if it's for a tech issue. greedy is an understatement.

I think you might be getting screwed, 99. What plan do you have? We have a family plan with 700 minutes, unlimited text, and one smartphone with unlimited data. We pay less than $150 per month. Granted, I also receive a discount from the library I work at, but still, a 4 phone plan should not be that close to a one phone plan.
Scores on the mend...
FICO: 650 (Discover/TU, 6/23/2016)
Cards I Use Citi Double Cash, Chase Amazon, Capital One QuickSilver
Sock Drawer Discover IT, Citi Diamond Preferred, AE Visa, QuickSilver One, Walmart CC, CareCredit, CreditOne (keeping for history for now)
Short Goal Reach 680
