Xbox One vs PS4

Postby FutureBillionaire » Wed Jun 12, 2013 11:59 am

I must be getting older, because I'm not giddy about any of these systems. I've loved video games as long as I can remember, but I can't spend the money I would spend on a laptop for a gaming system. Microsoft got it wrong with the pricing and the ability to sell used games. Their greed has gotten out of control. I'm going to stick with the 360.

Agreed. I was never a huge fan of the 360, but now they've sealed their own fate. When I eventually upgrade my PS3, it'll be directly to a PS4. My only complaint is that multiplayer will cost money, as I don't play online nearly enough to warrant the $50/yr fee.

I have both preordered and ready to go. I'm a huge console gamer. Can't get into the mouse and keyboard, I still think they will change the used game policy before launch. If not, it's not a huge deal to me. I don't buy a lot of used games anyways

One thing I always hated about Xbox was that we have to pay $$ to play online multiplayers, like t528491 said. No way in hell am I paying 500 bucks for a new gaming system. Even the Wii U wasn't that expensive. I'll pretty much stick to my Wii with pretty great games coming out later this year.

I don't mind paying for a service when it's worth it. Xbox Live system has always been far superior to PS3's. As far as chatting with friends, servers, private parties and content I feel Micro$ofts Xbox Live always excelled. Don't get me wrong I love my PS3 and I waited in line for the midnight release but that's another story, lol. If Sony can match it with quality servers and content I have no problem paying. Unfortunately, it won't filter out the immature 13 year olds on there. Not sure if there are any racing fans out there but on PC there is a very sweet online racing game called iRacing. Subscription based simulator racing game with none of the BS of crap online players. But anyway...

No new Xbox or PS4 probably after a few months of release for me though. I'm a big Metal Gear Solid fan so I'll most likely wait for that to release before I upgrade.

Im probably going to go for the ps4 even though I have a 360 and prefer microsoft's online experience over sony's. It depends mostly on what my friends choose, but it looks like we are leaning toward the ps4. Microsoft really blew it this time around.

The only games I am really looking forward to this year are BF4 and GTA V.

This is pretty much how I feel about it. Depends on what my friends get, but I'm betting most of them will go PS4 this time around even though we all have 360s now. I love the 360 online experience and don't mind at all the $50/year, but why would I buy an Xbone when I can't play it if my internet goes out? I do have Comcast after all, it's not unheard of.

One of my concerns though is what happens ten, fifteen years down the line when they decide to get rid of the Xbone servers. I do still play my old Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, etc and they're all still hooked up. So when MS decides to pull servers offline because they're no longer profitable, will they just do away with the whole online verification, or does your system become worthless? Either way they're going to piss a lot of people off.

Lol did you guys hear about the Microsoft exec that came out and said "If you don't want an always online console, we have an offline solution, it's called an xbox 360". Sometimes I expect Bill Gates to walk back in the door, kick them in the ass, and walk back out with the things Microsoft's been doing lately.

I heard that quote. Microsoft is thinking profits and not about it's consumers. I'm happy to keep my 360 for the forseeable future. Honestly, I don't know that I need to upgrade any time soon honestly.
