I was expecting this thread to explode.

Lewis Black did a good segment on the XBone (I really enjoy typing that) last night on The Daily Show:

I'm not sure if either is going to be worth getting.

I have an original PS3 now from five years ago. It still works nicely, but when I bought it, I promised my wife that I wouldn't do much gaming on it (since she hates gaming). I really bought it to be a Blu-Ray player (it was the cheapest on the market at the time) and it was my primary BD player for over 2 years before I got a better one.

I'm intrigued by having either unit as a media player but both are pretty expensive for that duty when Apple TVs and Rokus are pretty cheap.

My gf tolerates my gaming, but we do watch alot of netflix and whatnot. I can still do that on my machine. My PS3 is only used to watch Blu Rays. I have a nicer one that I got for Christmas 2 years ago, but I've never used it.
