I was just wondering, I read the MyFICO forum as I'm sure many of you do and after reading 90% of them using the word "garden" in every post ever, I've thought of exactly what I'd like to do with their bronze and silver spades. Wondering if anyone else ever thought the same thing. I love the info but seeing that over and over and over and over again, along with Congrats +1 5 times in a row below every new approval along with "now get into the garden" just kind of grates on my nerves.
So I had to stop reading for a bit. Anyone else ever have the same reaction?
Kind of along the same lines, why on earth would anyone make a post on there "Should I app for this card or garden?" because you already KNOW they are all going to howl "GET IN THE GARDEN" so why would you even ask? That's like asking your barber if you need a haircut, or a restaurant owner if you look hungry. I mean why even ask? Just go do whatever makes sense for you and you want to do. Do you want that card? Then go for it, if you feel you have a reasonable chance, or maybe even if not because you just never know it's ALWAYS YMMV. I should not have had any chance to get my CSP or my Amex cards following all conventional wisdom, but I didn't follow conventional wisdom I went for what I wanted. If I had asked on MyFICO (assuming I wasn't banned for life there and could ask) what to do, they'd have advised that I "garden" for the rest of my life, and certainly never go for those cards as I'm surely blacklisted for life and it will just be a wasted inquiry in the case of Chase and a waste of time in the case of Amex. But you just never know, and there is only ONE way to find out, and that way is not "gardening". So I say if you see yourself having this card in a few years and you want it and it fits your needs and goals and you want it, go for it and you know what they can do with their spades
Last but not least someone on there posted how waiting can be hard. One of the garden fanatics responds with "It can be, that is true. In the end, you'll be glad you waited. Join us in the garden thread. I find it easier among others who are waiting too." I was like are you talking about pieces of plastic, or losing your virginity?
