Life is good other than...

Postby mdl28 » Sun Jun 02, 2013 3:34 pm

I have developed aniexty and panic attacks about 8 months ago. I have moments where I feel like I cant swallow or breath. For those who have or had panic and or aniexty I have sympathy for you. The feeling is almost the worst in the world. The only thing worst for me is seeing my wife having to deal with my issues. I feel horriable for her, we were really enjoying life about 8 months ago but now I get so afraid to do certain things that may cause me aniexty we have limited the things we do. I do go to the doctor and therapist to get help with handling these issues but am still learning how to cope. My wife has no clue what Im dealing with and I know its killing her having to just take my word for how im feeling and what I need as far as emotional support.

I have no idea what it's like for you but it sounds like you have everything you need to hang in there and deal with this. I hope you overcome this soon.

I began to develop panic attacks and anxiety about 2 years ago, when flying. I never had problems flying for the first 24 year of my life, But all of a sudden they started. My doctor prescribed lorazepam, and the attacks have completely stopped. Sometimes just knowing I have the ability to take one subsides the panic attack. Talk to your doctor, see what they recommend

I understand. I had a bout with anxiety and for about a year or two it got really bad. Now I have smaller attacks and they're few and far between. I don't know what triggers them, but I had a near death experience a while back (someone attempted to shoot me in the head and missed by inches) and shortly after that is when it started. I'm sorry to hear that because it sucks so bad. There is hope though, it can get better, and I hope it does for you. I second talking to your doctor to see if you can get something to help it.
