I'm a car gal, does that count? I love, love everything cars and driving and also seem to buy them too frequently!

I just barely traded in my 2009 Nissan Murano LE for a 2012 Toyota 4Runner! My around town car is a beat 2001 VW Passat 4Motion. It is pushing 200k miles but a great car that I don't care about getting a door ding on and still fun to drive. My husband has in the garage 2003 Dodge Cummings Crew Cab with 20k miles on. It doesn't get out much as he has a work vehicle.

So fun to see pictures of everyones babies!

Sorry to steal this thread but just got a quick question. On my car, I always had 1 stripped lug stud and today I noticed ALOT of shaking from the front end. I checked to see if all my lugs were tight and I noticed on the same wheel that I had one messed up stud I now had 3! The lug just freely spins. Wont come off or get tight. I read online that this can happen from over tightening but has this ever happened to any of you guys? Like I said in one of my posts I live in a rougher neighborhood in Chicago and Im worried about idiot kids either vandalizing my car or trying to steal my rims. Also what do I have to do to fix this? Just replace the studs? Hopefully I wont have to replace the whole hub.

I would replace the studs if I were you. I had to replace three studs before and it was only like $50. It can cause major problems/damage if you don't get it fixed, like your wheel falling off lol.

The messed up thing is is that I had a wheel fall off before! Thats why Im starting to think somebody is messing with my car because this is like the 3rd or 4th time its happened. The only reason Im thinking it might be a coincidence is because I had already had one damaged stud on there so im thinking after time maybe the rest of them got compromised and now 2 more are stripped. This sucks that all of a sudden this happens on the coldest week in Chicago this year otherwise I would just fix it myself, but now Im going to have to take it in.

I currently have a 2009 vw rabbit. It was my first car that I bought senior year of high school (still regret not getting the gti, but that was when I didnt have that much money). Parents gave me the old family mini van which I had been driving to trade in for "cash for clunkers". I am on the golfmkv forums as "crappycrap". Its funny how you can run into other forum members in every day life. This last week I met a guy in my history class that is way into the vw scene and is also on the forums.

I am entertaining the idea of selling my current car and put my money into a 3rd/4th gen 4runner so that I can have something to take me up to the mountains during the winter and go off-roading during the summer.
