FastSRT8 wrote:OK... this is probably a question best answered by my engine builder and not me BUT here is my attempt to give you the info you asked for.

All three stroking, boring, FI are trying to do the same thing... increase displacement either thru physically increasing the combustion chamber (stroking and boring) or thru ramming more air in (FI). A bored job means the cylinder walls are enlarged thus increasing the displacement. When this is done, this obviously means the walls are thinner and may need to be reinforced especially if you are going to use FI after.

Stroking the motor means you are increasing the travel of the piston which also means 'increasing' the volume of the combustion chamber.

FI is adding a turbo or supercharger to increase air into the engine. WIth added fuel, this simulates a much larger engine.

With my build, I did all three.

So for example, will a 2.0L Engine Design A stroked to 2.2L have vastly different torque curve than a 2.0L Engine Design A bored to 2.2L?

How did I not see this thread before! Anyway I have a 2007 Audi a4 fully built motor with a 35r(old setup) that's currently being rebuilt with a 3076r (new setup). Made 397awhp @ 15psi..fueling is a big issue on our platform as we run out right around the 450whp mark.

First time around I had it built but after one of my cams locked up and having to rebuild it I decided to do it myself.

Will post some pics!

I have 2, my daily driver is the 2012 Hyundai Genesis coupe 3.8 and I just bought about a week ago a 2013 Cayman S, mileage is decent! When I get a chance I'll throw up some pics.
