Rory... DON'T!! I purchased a Vertu Constellation a few years ago and yes it is a well built phone and is nice BUT is it really 'worth it'?

I don't think so. The draw on this is the build quality and the Vertu concierge service which is supposed to be top notch. It is but for me now that I am a Centurion cardholder, the Vertu service is redundant.

Bottom line.... get the iPhone! The Vertu is not upgradable.... want to buy mine LOLOL

seriously? how much? and i want it because not only is it one of the ultimate status symbols for pompous rich bastards (present company excluded) but I have 9,999 contacts and my iphone just cant manage them all. Honestly i was joking in reference to the vertu and all, i was literally LMAO when you said you had one. Its a niche product because few people even know such phones exist and they really have no benefits over the iphone, besides high quality construction materials and the concierge service. Its almost a novelty given my current lifestyle so shoot me a price and maybe we can talk...

that was a terrible coincidental pun

How did we go from pretentious watches to pretentious cell phones?

Rory - have you tried using Google to manage your contacts?

i was kidding, Vertu once advertised that it could hold something like 10,000 contacts, i have a bit less than that.

Pretentious watches go hand in hand with pretentious cell phones. They both are hand operated and can be used simultaneously by the same arm! i surprised no one picked up on this astoundingly obvious correlation before page 6!

To clarify... it is a constellation BUT NOT the latest model so it's not a smartphone. It's a telephone telephone with some Vertu tweaks. Got it new in 2006. Still looks amazing, especially in a world where people use iPhones and BB all day long.

I just got it back from Vertu for a final firmware upgrade; which took them bloody 3 months to do. The phone 'odometer' shows it was hardly used. It's so damn heavy that's why I didn't use it much with my suits anyway. Freaking makes one looks like you are packing.... in your suit breast pocket, packing like you are carrying a piece... in your pants... well... packing like a stallion ready to go!

damn, was hoping for the smart phone but hey shoot me an estimate and we can talk, i need a back up phone for when i go out to dinner that isnt so overloaded with apps that its battery lasts half a dozen hours. The construction and packaging is extraordinary, they really go the extra step to almost justify the price.
