A good friend of mine has a couple of charge offs due to a medical issue that he could not pay because he was unemployed. He is now in the process of paying them off. Obviously they have had a big impact on his credit score.
Does anyone have any experience with having them removed from reports once they are paid off? I know that technically they could stay on his report for seven years, even if paid off, but I have also heard that collection agencies have removed them once paid and I have heard that you can request that they be removed once paid and be successful.
