MyFICO showing a different score than a lender?

Postby Ratfacedudeguy » Tue Jun 19, 2012 10:01 am

This is a very odd and frustrating situation. I just signed up for the trial offer of MyFICO, and it reported an Equifax score of 707. To test this information, I put in an application with Chase, called the recon line when it couldn't give me an instant decision as I expected, and they declined me, citing an Equifax score of about 660. Have any of you guys had a discrepancy like this happen from the MyFICO scoring system? Could that "FICO" score that they provide truly be something else? Or perhaps does Chase not use the FICO scoring system?

i don't know what chase uses but i do know that some banks/lenders trail 30-60 days when it comes to scores. how did your scores look in the past quarter?

Yeah I guess if that's the case then that would be pretty accurate. Back when I got my consolidation loan from my work in early March my score was either in the 630s or 650s. I'm not going to be able to apply for anything for the next few months to a year anyway because of all my recent inquiries so that should give my score some time to catch up.
