I'm visiting LA next month for business but I do want to schedule some R&R time. Anyone ever tried getting tickets to Jay Leno via concierge? If so, how was the outcome?

Now that I think of it has anyone tried Letterman tickets as well?

I'm going to say that you can't get tickets through your concierge. The reason why TV shows are free, they do places that take thir card.

If you are going to a club and let's say for example you have a signature visa credit card and that club takes visa, use their concierge reservations, I guess you can do that.
sporting events, restaurants, car rentals, airlines, hotels travel.

But not live broadcasting of TV shows.

I just called into Concierge-->Event Tickets for the upcoming Formula 1 USGP in Austin, TX.

Nothing. They didn't even have it on their list of upcoming events. Nothing in the works for special access/invite only/whatever they call it.

A premier event. The pinnacle of motor racing. A rich man's sport by any definition*. A spectacle unto itself and ....................... nothing.

* I say that part since Amex markets itself to be a premier card.

Is the event already listed? Are tickets already for sale?

Maybe I should call and see if I can get some....

There was some type of Season Ticket sale that happened. General admission is supposedly opening up this early summer.

All they could do was the same thing I could do ........... go to the Circuit of the Americas website and submit an email for someone to contact me 'within one business day'. (for Premier seating)

I'd be curious to hear what Centurion Conc says

Dan,

Send me a PM on what the details are for this event and I will email my concierge. I'm pretty tied up here at work and an email would be easiest for me to do.

Plat and Gold have it too I believe. Just different levels of availability. For example my Centurion concierge is avail 24/7 365. Also, they are 'supposed' to be their very best.... whatever that means LOL

Can someone comment on the usefulness and quality of concierges for a gold card holder vs. a platinum card holder? If the concierge service is as useful as people say, I will apply for the gold card.

Main Card: Amex Platinum
For gas: Penfed Platinum Cash Rewards
For travel & dining: Chase Sapphire Preferred
