Recently tried to use debit card at banks atm, but was denied due to wrong pin. Now I know the pin was right, I even called the bank and changed the pin, but the machine still said wrong pin. I have heard that bank software has sneaky tricks for atms. Does anyone have a list of these codes? I saw some standard codes here http://www.atmexperts.com/atm_error_codes.html
but this does not go into detail.
Basically I heard that if you dont use your pin at an atm for a few months, your card will be flagged and you will have to go in to have them fix it. An unusual attempted withdraw amount from an atm will also freeze your card. If you go to a different bank outside of the city when on vacation and try to use the card it will get frozen unless you call ahead of time. Its is a little funny because my bank rep was telling me there is a whole list of funny reasons why the machine rejects or eats your card.
Now these dont always happen, but if you know of this list, the website etc, let me know.
