Favorite carry-on bags?

Postby CarefulBuilder14 » Sun Oct 01, 2017 2:39 pm

I've my first flight in a long time coming up where a checked bag is not essential. Previously I would just use a small laptop bag as a carry-on and keep electronic stuff in it.

Does anyone have a favorite carry-on in which khakis and a dress shirt won't get too wrinkled? Anything more complicated, like a suit, would go in a checked bag.

Have you tried checking this one out:
https://www.geniuspack.com/

Search for the Tri-fold carry on garment bag.
In my wallet:
CHASE Freedom Unlimited / AMEX Hilton Honors

In my sock drawer:
CHASE Freedom / AMEX Blue Cash Everyday

I may get something like that for other travel, though by the time the suit and a dress shirt are two are in I'm not sure how much more it can fit. They show how it looks folded, and they show how it looks unfolded with a moderate amount of clothing. I'd be more persuaded if they actually showed that it was easy to pack and fold when full of all the clothes they say it can take.

Some of the most highly-rated products are Amazon Basics, and they are a fraction of the price of many other bags. The limitation of the reviews for them is that people praise it after one trip, not giving a clear idea of how durable it may be over the years. It seems to appeal to a different crowd, compared to, for example, Tumi bags. The problem with a travel bag is that whenever it breaks, it's almost certainly at a bad time.

Some Delsey products look good.

I have the Mr. Davis Continuum bag (https://mrdavis.com/continuum-best-carr ... ag-travel/). I really enjoy it. The new version is really durable, but you can get the old version for cheap since they are trying to get rid of them (https://mrdavis.com/one-bag-travel/).
Discover IT - $5,700
Chase Freedom - $5,700
Costco Citi - $13,000
Sallie Mae - $4,000
Chase Sapphire Preferred - $6,000
Chase Sapphire Reserve - $19,500
Citi Double Cash - $6,500
Amex BCE - $13,000

FICOs: Discover (777), SallieMae (764), Amex (767), Citi (772)
FAKOs: CK- TU (760), EQ (760)
