I don't go Black Friday shopping correctly. I saw people camped out in the BestBuy parking lot on Thanksgiving morning. Several stores started their specials on Thanksgiving morning. Last year someone I was working with told me how they went to Walmart Thanksgiving evening, waited until midnight when his wife and daughter filled their shopping cart while he waited in line for the television he wanted, then they checked out at 5am.
I wasn't about to put up a tent in a parking lot, I wasn't about to stand in line for 5 hours to check out. Above all, I wasn't about to be late for family Thanksgiving or leave early to go shopping. I did go with a friend of mine at 5am on Friday morning and we only spent about $100 between us. I hate shopping when the stores are super busy and you really don't have time to look at something before you buy it. You need to know exactly what you are going after before you leave and the store is sold out when you get there. I've seen outdated left over electronics in the past, stuff bundled with other stuff you don't really need, even some things I thought were priced higher than normal. I've seen no name blenders and toaters for $5 and food processers for $3. Anyone ever hear of a Microlabs television? I haven't either.
It is fun watching people lined up clear through the store waiting to check out. It's fun watching people battle over some stupid little item. Oh well, I went so I could say I was there, but I would rather do the cyber monday thing or hit the malls after the crowd backs off. Oh, and the day after Christmas isn't fun either!
