I saved 2K this year protesting my property tax and I'll do it again for as long as I am able to do so.
I just bought my home so you would think the price I paid is market value.
The city immediately reassessed it at thousands over that claiming that is market value. He'll if it was I'd sell. They just want to bone you as hard as they can so they have more money to give to the billionaire sports team owners. After all we are on the hook now for a half a billion dollars of welfare for this rugged individualist and his for profit business. Yeah I'm bitter why the he'll should I subsidise his profits.
So I totally get it. And why should we be taxed every year on it. Republicans howl about the death tax being double taxation but what about infinite taxation. At my tax rate in 30 years I will have paid for this place twice over, more as they raise the tax. I paid 3400 on this place last year that I paid 109k for. The way they increase it here you pay another mortgage basically. And you get nothing I can determine for all that money, so typical of government.
