To be honest I hope someone wins the damn thing because all the hype is getting old. I dont play. As much as it sounds great to win that much money, there are downsides. Similar to being a celebrity, everyone will know who you are if you win. You could be open to stalking or crime. Maybe im paranoid. Of course, if that wealthy, one could hire security, but yeah...just not my thing.

Nope. I think it is an utter waste of money.

I don't see any reason not to play. How often do you get a shot at becoming a billionaire?

I don't normally play but this time I said how often does one get a shot at that kind of money.

If I won I guess the good news is I would surely get that CLI from FNBO.

Then Amex would likely put me under FR if I updated my assets to nearly 1 billion post taxes. LOL

P.S I know how far against the math it is but crossing the billion mark pre taxes is a big deal so I did it.

A group of us online sometimes go in on tickets so we did it last week and this week. We don't play very often, just when jackpots get really high.

I might buy one ticket.

In terms of mathematics, it's throwing money away. In terms of varied entertainment, it's cheap and might be interesting. I've received lottery tickets before as what might be called business gifts, but have never bought one. $2 is a lot cheaper than a movie ticket.

Then again, I'm about to get 94 "lottery tickets" from IHG, and the odds are a lot better on those...
Keeping indefinitely: IHG, SchwabPlat, CSP, Discover, Freedom, ED, BCE, Hyatt
May close or PC: Prestige, Arrival, BrooksBros
AA Platinum converting into Costco

Might add: Proper business card, CSR, Ritz, Delta Gold, First Tech
Letting new accounts cool off since May

A friend of mine said he watched a man buy $5000 worth of tickets last week at a convenience store. Maybe that's normal, I dunno. I feel guilty spending $20 on tickets. LOL

I've gotten tickets before for entertainment, too. I've gone in with coworkers before when it made headlines for how big it got. I definitely don't go out and buy a ticket every time it reaches some arbitrary huge number.

I've gone to casinos for entertainment. I usually will only spend about $20. There's just not much entertainment value in it for me - I know they're making a lot of money in the long run and it very quickly just feels like throwing money away. I can watch pretty lights in mindless games on my phone for free.

That's crazy. Let's face it. Even buying that number of tickets, your chances are still extremely, extremely small.

If I did decide to play I'd buy one ticket. The way I see it, if you are destined to win, you'll win...no need to buy 5k in tickets.
