Yep.

While there are a few level headed folk there, a lot of people on there especially CC subforum that are just plain batshit crazy.

MyFico sure is different.
I don't see why they require full name, address, phone number, etc. to even register.
Control issues...

And unfortunately, the level headed ones don't stick around long. They are drowned out by the lunatics and the app horny ones. AARP has a $200 bonus now, so obviously everyone should abandon all credit goals for an extra $100 over the usual bonus. I love how so many people say they are "gardening" but any bonus that comes along (and there always will be one!) makes them "fall out of the garden". I mean yes, $200 is a nice bonus, but $200 isn't even that much money these days.

$200 pay for my rental car in Vegas.

If I wasn't so Chase heavy, i'd apply.

My point was moreso that if you are planning to garden and need to chill on the apps, $200 should not make you forget about that because offers will always come and go. Of course if your credit is in the shape to apply, it's a nice bonus to have. It just makes me mad that people are like "I'm done no more apps!" and 2 days later a $200 bonus comes and that goes out the window. Another HP, another AAOA ding. Then "no more apps!". Then another bonus comes and another HP and AAOA ding. See my point?

If I knew I had the score and profile to go for CSP with 50,000 for $4k spending over 3 months, I'd jump right on it. As it stands I don't. If my profile improves in six months to a year, and the offer is still there, I'll probably do it then .

Makes me wish I can apply again for CSP and get the bonus.

A lot of people say that and yet still seem to be obsessed with myFICO. Member was a prime example but even the people on CreditBoards can't seem to get away from myFICO.

Any opinion that goes against "congrats!" or "did you app yet?" or "app app app!" is basically frowned upon. I give honest, sometimes blunt, advice, but have gotten many PMs from members appreciating my voice among the majority of drones there. Evidently though, it wasn't enough. I'll have to give serious thought as to whether to even go back after 60 days. I like(d) some of the people there but the leadership seems biased at best.

I have no interest in the app frenzy and congrats threads and don't even click on them but, yeah they do make up a majority of the topics there. It really doesn't matter to me what any given person apps for or why. That's all up to them to determine based on the information readily available to them. It's not my responsibility to change anyone's behavior. A person has to want to change in order to change. I'll prompt for more information from those asking for recommendations on cards as no one ever seems to provide any useful information for others to use to make recommendations but that's about it when it comes to such topics.

It is a lot of noise and I'm not sure why I bother with it. A bot could easily replace me as it's the same info over and over again.

However, that's pretty much any discussion forum site. A lot of noise with the same questions endlessly asked and the occasional nugget.

Well, I have no choice but to be done, at least for the duration of the ban lol. But even after that, I may just stick to this site instead.

Like you said which I bolded - nobody ever does provide usable, useful information to help people make a choice. Ok, maybe not "never" but it's rare. Usually it's just "did you app? Go ahead! scores are great! Don't call recon and you'll be approved!"...in other words, spewing out memes and blanket recommendations.

It seems the site is run by biased people who play favorites. Certain users are allowed to snark and pick on you as much as they want and nobody cares, but if you respond to it at all, even to say "stop it", you're the one that gets banned...even though their little teacher's pets are the ones that started the conflict.

This is a much nicer site with much more normal people, and I'm thinking I'll be here more often! Lol. My ban reason lists "bombing" threads with off topic material. I'm not even sure what that is supposed to refer to, since today's thread that "went off topic" was solely to a member snarking about "KDM doesn't pay my bills"...in other words, starting an argument, and yet I'm the one blamed for it.

Good for you! I've been trying to quit that place for a long time...but then I get bored and start browsing the threads. Which of the mods banned you?

On a related note, did Lexie die or something?
