Common sense posting seems to shut down a lot of threads over there.

They've made it clear that they only want "pansy" posts.

I mean, how else does someone get away with posting nothing but "Congrats, Thanks for sharing" continuously in every thread in a particular subforum, and not considered to be spamming or "bombing"?

I don't think it could be more clear that Fico enjoys all the credit pulls from the credit card company's that also most often request a FICO score they get to collect money from.

There is no downside really to this due to the fact they own the credit score market and it's not like we get to chose the score a creditor pulls to use with your report. I have to say it's great business for them and they really don't have a reason to do other wise that is in there self interest.

Even in the AA threads, the coddling is crazy. People are like "well ,he just wanted to post the data point", which I get, but I mean, how much of a data point does one need? Is it not common sense that applying for so many cards is asking for trouble/abnormal? Why does something so simple need to be proven with "data points"? Don't seek credit aggressively...it's not rocket science.

They need to add Closures and AA boards to go along with their Applications and Approvals ones.

A summary of my thoughts on CCs over time, for those interested: http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-Cards/Credit-card-priorities-over-time/td-p/4426674

Hopefully, it will remain a sane thread.

I think your thread has some good thoughts. I hope MF doesn't veer it too far off course. It seems most of their priorities are apping for whatever gets them an extra 0.0001% on something they buy twice a year for $50 lol

But that is a faction of a cent that will add up to a whole penny one day so clearly worth not only the HP but the new account reporting that can go nicely with the other 100 I have added in the last two years. Oh and then I am going to go apply for a auto loan followed by looking for a new house to buy.

:beat: :beat: :beat:

Okay cards can provide nice little rewards but there comes a time it isn't worth damaging your credit over. A point that fly's on by them to be forgotten once they see a card they don't have already.

Just like how a well known poster on there is constantly posting trying to justify a new app. "What card should I get? What do you guys use for xyz?"Meanwhile he has like 10 travel program cards already, which is spreading thin for anybody. Is there a point where you just don't need anything else? He acts like there's some deadline to app for a card just because. It's very strange.

Gathering info from others I understand, but there comes a point where you are just obsessing. He wrote an extremely long summary of why he keeps every card (most of them were rather small, niche purposes). It's like, if you're putting THIS much thought into it, why on earth do you need to poll others to see what else you need?
