It amazes me how some people who have several premium cards can "know" so many false things about the reward programs behind them...

I don't like much about Windows 10, but one major upside is that FT pages load in about 1/4 of the time they used to. I'll stay here, too, but it's time to leave MF for FT.
Wallet: Prestige CSP SchwabPlat Freedom It Hyatt SallieMae AAPlat

Really not sure what I'll add next or when

They just jump on bandwagons and sign up for cards without really looking into what will benefit them. I also don't care for certain posters on there who feel they are extremely entitled to retention offers despite relatively low spend (I think you know who I mean -- spent 15k on the ritz and now wants the world handed to them).

MF is more or less a waste of time IMO. My goal is to continue cutting down on even reading it and eventually stop completely. Since I am banned, it's rather a pain to read it anyway as I have to fire up a proxy. And for that work, I just read and shake my head. Some of the threads are just plain silly. Instead of searching for a CC to give you a discount on a gym membership why not seek out a cheaper gym in the first place, or attack the problem at the source -- the gym itself? Why seek out a brand new CC for something that is a fairly trivial expense every month (as compared to bills etc anyway)? I fully understand wanting a discount, but one's first thought shouldn't be "gee, I need to find a CC for that!". Talk about working backwards...some of those people really need to widen their eyes to finances beyond credit cards. But god forbid you tell the OP that, or you get banned for not being "friendly"; to myfico, "friendly" means "you must agree with the poster, and if you do not agree and support their choices, do not respond to their thread".

You mean Jared? I think he's a little over the top when it comes to the whole asking for AF waived but if it works for him, why knock it? Lol. 15K spend is a drop in the bucket to what they expect the average RC cardholder to spend.

Of course people are free to ask for/think what they want but the expectations have to be lowered. It's fine to ask for an offer, but to act and post as if you are the best cardholder ever and deserve it is a bit over the top. 15k is nothing, as you said, compared to what they think a RC cardholder should be spending.

I'm not knocking anyone for wanting to save money; it's moreso about the attitude with which they conduct themselves. Most people seem to think they are far more important than they actually are.

Some of that, yes. But. Still not the most evil place in the world (or the top 1M) so not worth all the angst.

It's not evil, it's just like a bad trainwreck. You want to look away, but many of the people are so out of touch with reality it's amusing to read.

I don't really see any angst. I'm not upset about being banned, nor is Nixon at this point. Like I said earlier in the thread, it's probably a positive thing overall. Anyone who provides an honest, straightforward, non-sugar-coated opinion repeatedly on there is sooner or later banned. It's just how it goes. You either have to walk on eggshells and sugarcoat every opinion or you simply only say "congrats! +1! you should app!"...anything else gets you disliked or banned.

Having said that, it's not like there's anything that can be done about it, other than to choose to spend time on other websites :)

The one thing everyone can agree on here is that Credit One and First Premier are universally hated on CB, MF and here.

KDM there you are. Wondered where you disappeared to! Why did you get banned????

Just curious.... why is there a whole other forum here anyway with so much discussion about myfico? I haven't really browsed to much here so I could be wrong. I do agree sometimes people do get a little too excited with apping. I Just don't understand why we can't all get along though.

It is great to have different views in any setting. Trying to think of a good analogy. I just want everyone to get along!

This forum has a lot of people venting about myfico because saying these things on myfico would get us permanently banned.

Its not me who doesnt want to get along. Several people on that site pick arguments repeatedly and the person who defends themselves gets banned. I wish everyone could get along, but one has to realize that myfico is simply a typical corrupted forum with overzealous moderators. They dont want to see any disagreement. Think about it. Pretty much any poster who says anything other than "congrats!" Isnt that well liked on there.

I totally agree myfico and all sites should have different points of view, but they simply dont allow for it. I refuse to be fake with people just to "get along" nor will I encourage people who are hopelessly addicted (theyre "gardening for 2 years" then a week later its "OMG venture approved!)

TBH, If they banned a few select people that site would be 100% better.

pizza1 ("I make payments from my iPhone in-store")
Swampy99 (WHY YOU NO GIVE ME CREDIT?!)
CAPTOOL (Did you app yet?)
Creditaddict (WHY YOU NO GIVE MY HUBBY CREDIT?!)
Joeyzoom416 (WhineWhineWhineWhine SpendingProblem.)
ddemari (Can't Garden, Clown will eat me!)
Monoglot (Credit Prodigy, Finstar's love child?)

I'm sure i'm missing a few, but off the top of my head those select few cause the most trouble on MyFICO since I departed.
