So I have about $4600 is medical debt. I plan on paying this all off. I want to pay for delete on the lesser amounts and negotiate the larger amounts down to about half. Some of them are due to fall off soon or have already reached their statute. If an account in collections has already reached it's statue can the collection agency still collect on it and can it still be reflected on my credit report? I plan on recording the conversation while I am paying these debts off. My question is, is recording the conversation enough or should I have something in writing? Should I not pay it off until they send me a letter in the mail detailing our agreement or should I request an email? My other question is after I pay these accounts off, how long will it take for them to be deleted from my credit report and the negotiated ones to be marked as paid. Any help I'd greatly appreciate thank you.
