That is really too bad. Dell makes great monitors, but I think their computers are very hit or miss. Though for what you're doing with it, it should be perfect every second of every day.

The monitor is completely unresponsive, though. If I turn the computer on in a "fresh" start from being totally shut down, the monitor doesn't even turn on normally - most of the time.

I'd be less worried if I hadn't gotten it to work at all - but I have. It's worked smoothly (at times), but very inconsistently. It's just worlds away from being a machine worth what I paid.

Odd. Sounds like either a bad adapter or bad driver. Maybe try and update drivers for the card and the monitor.

You could also try using inputs that don't need the adapter and see if it causes the same issue. Like VGA, DVI or HDMI at 1080p on all of them and see what happens.

Of the 15 or so times I've started up the computer, it's worked perfectly twice. If the problem was the adapter or the driver, I don't know why it would work on those two occasions.

I'm not sure what the problem is. I just know that for that much money in a preselected, non-customizable package, there shouldn't be one.

According to Nvidia's website the GTX 745 doesn't support Display Port. It does support VGA, HDMI, DVI-D. And the Costco bundle doesn't mention the distributor of the graphics card. So it is possible that Costco designed a bundled an inept graphics card with an awesome monitor. Am I right?

Read again. Yes it does. I even posted the direct quote from Nvidia.

I reread what you posted. But I don't see that said anywhere under the specifications for the card on Nvidia's website. So could you please post a link to where you got your information?

I'm returning it next time I go to Costco, so it all seems a little moot at this point.

Thanks Lobbythis. I didn't read the annotation. My bad.
