Site charging more after confirmation was received?

Postby nismoZtuner » Thu Apr 09, 2015 9:06 pm

So I bought something on the Hersheys site last month on the 31st-I bought a Bday present, I had a custom order made. So this is what happened I made my order> received a confirmation> Credit card charged for the amount everything is okay.. I see my charge for 79.87(all good).

Today my card was charged (again!) for 109.67 so that was kind of strange i did not mind since i thought it was a pending charge (maybe) but a few hours later i received a shipment confirmation with different numbers. I went to check my CSP activity and see that the original charge of 79.87 was dropped (?) . I went a head and logged into my Hersheys account that was made during my order and clicked on order detail [shows my original order for $79.87 NOT $109.67]

03/31/2013- During my confirmed order:
Price for Item: $60
Shipping: $19.95
Taxes: $5.92
Total: $79.87 (After discount)

04/09/2015 -But now the Shipping Confirmation shows:
Price for Item: $54
Shipping: $47.55
Taxes: $8.12
Total: $109.67

I already emailed them to see what happens since I live in CA and PA is 3 hours a head (their CS is closed)-----------what do you guys think?

I think you should not accept the second charge. I would insist they revert it to the original and unless you really need whatever you ordered refuse the shipment and dispute the charge if it comes down to it. I know it's a custom order but that's bait and switch.

Maybe somehow/someone changed your shipping method? But that doesn't explain the change in the item price... Companies can't generally change your order without permission, unless the product or service is unavailable.

I thought $20 was a bit much for shipping, but $50 is ridic!

What is the discount you used? Maybe that is the problem...
