Right now I am looking to get a 22LR for my next purchase. I would like to have a gun to take to the range that does not cost me a ton to shoot. Even 9mm is expensive when you want to spend some time at the range.

With as hard as decent 22LR is to find right now without paying through the nose, 9mm is still my preferred round cheap shooting. CCI Minimag WHEN I can find it still costs me 8c/rd. I can find bulk 9mm for as cheap as 16c/rd for steel and 21c/rd for brass.

IF and WHEN I can find Remington Golden bullet bulk buckets (1400rd @ 4c/rd), I stock up as it is the next most reliable HV 22LR for general purpose shooting.

I have never liked to use steel. Even though my Glock can handle it, I just don't like putting extra stress on it. Plus many ranges don't let you use steel. For the most part the reason I have not gotten a 22 yet is because of the current prices.
Discover IT - $5,700
Chase Freedom - $5,700
Costco Citi - $13,000
Sallie Mae - $4,000
Chase Sapphire Preferred - $6,000
Chase Sapphire Reserve - $19,500
Citi Double Cash - $6,500
Amex BCE - $13,000

FICOs: Discover (777), SallieMae (764), Amex (767), Citi (772)
FAKOs: CK- TU (760), EQ (760)

I have had no issues with it.

All the ranges I go to ban it. The main reason is probably because they cannot collect it and reload it, but the range masters I talked to have all suggested that it puts extra stress on the gun.

There are a lot of them out there ... but not for 4 cents a round. Quantities of 2800rd & 5600rd are also being sold:

Yeah, at 8-10c/rd I can get CCI Minimag pretty consistently, and would rather shoot that if i'm paying that price. Lol.

How I miss 1/c 22lr.
