Haha! I like the CNN prank calls too, especially the Captain Janks ones.

I've seen a few history lectures on C-SPAN that were pretty good. I don't watch the talk programs on there, but it doesn't look like the anchors generally have huge egos (compared to anchors on other networks). They also probably don't have the staff to screen the callers as carefully or cut them off as smoothly. So prank-calling C-SPAN seems kind of desperate to me. There's nothing clever about it.

If someone made a good prank call to someone like Rush Limbaugh (more because of his ego, resources, etc. than his politics - but I don't like those, either) then I might find it funny.

I think pranks can be funny. But they would be better id they somehow got the anchor to play along or they stringed the anchor along for a while. Some of these are more vulgar than funny. I do like vulgar humor though! I think radio stations can be the best pranks. The c span hosts just hang up but a radio dj on an entertainment program might play along or fight back with the listener. Anyway the video had some good awkward moments so I'm glad I watched .

Wonder if some of the videos were pranks, hard to tell with the straight face anchors.

At the time she was a new reporter, she's still relatively new to CNN and news reporting. However, I think she was just shocked by her caller (like did he really just say that?) and decided to continue the interview until the prankster just cut it off.
