Amazon Return Policy

Postby darkguy2 » Thu Jan 15, 2015 4:04 pm

Lately I have noticed that Amazon will refund me for an order as soon as it is shipped, not after getting it. I am not sure if they do this for everybody since I would imagine some people would take advantage of it. Is this the same for everyone else?
Discover IT - $5,700
Chase Freedom - $5,700
Costco Citi - $13,000
Sallie Mae - $4,000
Chase Sapphire Preferred - $6,000
Chase Sapphire Reserve - $19,500
Citi Double Cash - $6,500
Amex BCE - $13,000

FICOs: Discover (777), SallieMae (764), Amex (767), Citi (772)
FAKOs: CK- TU (760), EQ (760)

That's what they've done for me. They also send replacement items before I've even sent back the defective item. They just warn that they'll charge you for both if they don't get the first back by a certain date.

They've been doing it for years. It depends on your profile with them, spend lots of money, they issue credits faster. it probably also matters who much you return (and what, they expect high volumes of returns on some lines). They've told me to keep some things that were defective, rather than send them back; they also insisted I return a really cheap item that cost them more to ship each way than I paid for it.

They do charge your credit card if you don't return on time.

I do order a lot of stuff on Amazon. I think the last time I checked, I had 50+ orders in the last 6 months alone. It does make sense that they could just charge your credit card if you try to trick them.
