What stores/restaurants do you refuse to shop/eat at and why?

A place to discuss anything... except credit cards!

Ate lunch at a Mexican restaurant that had run out of tomato salsa and chicken. How does that even happen?

I hadn't been there in years (due to not being nearby) but I'm definitely not going back.

Went to a karaoke place for my husband's bday. Our total at the end of the night was a little over $500, which me and my husband paid for.

When I handed the guy my card, he goes, "Oh, can you pay in cash? We have to pay really high fees with a credit card."

I responded that I don't carry $500 in cash on me.

And he invited me to use the ATM next door -- which was not for my bank obviously and would cost me fees.

I was like, "If you are selling a service that costs $500 and you don't have a single cash-only sign around, you should expect your customers to want to pay with card. And, no, I'm not going to eat the ATM fee."

So he took my card, grumbling the whole time.

I tipped well because it's not the staff's fault. But we just added this venue to our businesses-to-boycott list.

That's a bad move for a business with a customer spending $500... pretty weak.
