Not to sound harsh or anything, but its been a month and she hasn't replied you. Its not that she doesn't have time to reply you, it barely takes 20 seconds to reply a text.
I hope you get all the success, but think about it.

As a Veteran myself,

Postby OldMan » Wed Sep 10, 2014 12:04 pm

I can promise you, your parents are wrong about the service. Serving as either enlisted, (myself) or officer, is something I would recommend to most people. Besides all of the educational and G.I. benefits, there's a pride that comes from having served your country that can never be taken away.

When I joined, I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. But the service provided me with trade skills in electrical and electronics, that laid the ground for me to pursue my current job. Many of my friends and fellow service members are the same way. To this day, I've yet to talk with any of the people I served with that regretted their service.

If she hasn't responded to you at all then you need to take the hint. If you keep contacting her you're doing nothing but annoying her.

Jumbo,

Yeah man, it's been nearly a month. I mean it doesn't take this long usually to get a reply does it?

Djrez,

That's what I should do, your right. No point in keeping myself in limbo just because I don't hear from her. I need to move on without her..and see where life takes me.

Oldman,

Were you in the Navy by any chance? I feel that my parents are wrong, or have the wrong Idea about what it really is. My parents, thankfully are well-off so money isn't an issue...but I want to do it for the pride as well and see where life takes me. It could be a wonderful opportunity or I could hate it and regret...but I'll never know till I take the chance and find out. And it's not like 25 is to old to accomplish other things. I just need time to figure out what to do with my life and I feel like I can still make mistakes now and recover from it...

Sak-That's what I figure. I mean she responded a couple weeks back but after that I haven't texted her. We're still going to be friends but I probably won't ask her out again....best to move on now I think.

Air Force for me

Postby OldMan » Thu Sep 11, 2014 7:42 am

and one of my brothers. My oldest brother is retired from the Navy after 25 years, and my kid sister also did an enlistment in the Navy. None of us have ever regretted it, and all of us greatly benefited from it. My sister is now a Chiropractor, one brother is an I.T. Tech, I'm an Automation Engineer. The oldest is now fully retired, after the Navy, he got his degree in Human Resource Management.

Oldman,

That's awesome! If you don't mind me asking, what did you do in the AF? AF was my first option but they never responded to my emails or calls at two separate recruitment offices so I went with the Navy instead since they were actually willing to work with me.

I'm with Jumbo. This is just silly. Someone ignored you for an entire month and you still think they care that much about you? That's ridiculous.

If anything, she sounds like she is begging you to just leave already. I'm being harsh because you sound young and inexperienced and harshness is what you need to bring you back to reality.

Dickey-

Looked into the CG, their an excellent organization but...the Navy has more type of ratings that I'm interested in. Plus the closest CG recruiting station is about 30 miles, whereas my Navy recruitment office is 5 miles away.

Lobbythis-

I mean I would think knowing this person for the last 14-15 years and being close friends...I would think she cares. She's busy...but your right...a month is too long. It is ridiculous.

That's what I figure too. Be as harsh as you want, I need it to be honest. No more false hopes for me. Time to do me and move on with the rest of my life. I've been in a relationship before...but I was the one that ignored her (a lot of stuff going on then)...now it's the opposite. I'm pretty young you can say. Appreciate the reality check. I was just hoping out for the last few weeks but I guess life doesn't always go the way you want...
