My experience with Elder Scrolls Online

Postby MemberSince99 » Sat Aug 16, 2014 7:37 am

Being an online game player and figuring maybe some of you are as well I figured I would let you know how trying this game went for me.

I read plenty of negative reviews of it, but having played and loved Skyrim as well as the games that came before it, wanted to give it a shot. I bought it off Amazon and went to install it last night when it arrived.

Began install then went online to create an account as instructed. The install crashed after about 4 hours so I restarted it and this time it completed. Then I logged back in online so I could register the game and the extra I got with it. When I attempted to do that, it told me I was suspended and would not allow me to log in or to play the game. Yep, I never once got to even play it and I'm banned. I was in disbelief but Googled it and apparently that's happened to a lot of people.

If you doubt me, I don't blame you because I would doubt it if it hadn't happened, but that's exactly what happened. I contacted them via email and let them know how ridiculous and insane that is. Just a waste of 38 dollars. It's too bad we can't return software. Well we can but if Amazon has to eat it, that's not right. It's not Amazon that screwed me it's this horrible software company.

Now you might be thinking well can't you appeal and get them to overturn the ban? Maybe I could, but say I do and then they ban me again for no reason - if it happened once what is to say the issue won't happen again? Then I'm paying for a game I was banned from for no reason at all. I did not enter credit card info (thank God!) but it is pay by the month, would you want to give them your credit card info and then let them lock you out when you've done nothing (literally)? I don't. So I don't even want that at this point because after this, how could I possibly trust them?

Just wanted to let people know about this and if you are thinking about trying this game, you might want to think long and hard on that. I threw the thing in the trash and I'm done with it, and I can't even tell you how it is as I never got a chance to try it before I got banned. Yes this is really true. Just a warning to the wise.

Their customer service responded via email asking if it was still an issue. I said am I still banned? Yeah I would guess so, but it's not an issue I threw the thing in the trash where it belongs and told them what kind of a POS I thought it was that I can't even play it before I get banned. I mean it's not like I went onto FICO and mocked the useless customer "service" of Cap One or something so 09 lays down the ban hammer on me - I never even played it and was banned. They responded that they were going to fix it and let me know, then responded they fixed it and wanted to give me some free time to compensate me, but I ignored it and the game was safely in the trash.

I mean how could I possibly give them credit card info to play it when I'm subject to get locked out for no reason at all? That would be as nuts as getting banned for no reason.

I read reviews claiming people were getting banned for no reason, and while I didn't doubt it, I found it hard to believe but after this, yeah, I would believe about anything with this game.

Maybe it's a really cool game - I have no idea. I never got a chance to see before they banned me.

It gets better, or maybe continues.

I for some idiotic reason fished it out of the garbage and re-installed. This joker tells me it's "fixed" so I try to play it and it won't take my login info in the game. I can use the same login info to log onto their website so I know I'm entering it right.

Wow this is just beyond belief. I sent him another email mocking this crap I mean what a steaming piece of something this thing is. I wondered why I even bothered with it when I know it's crap, and I guess I HOPED (stupidly I think) that the game itself would be worth all this hassle and idiocy, but if this is an indication of what's to come, the negative reviews are right on the money.

Skyrim was and is a fantastic game, the ONLY issues with it are one it seems to end a little sooner than I'd like and two the missions can become all too similar (I mean how many missions can you have in this type of game?). Not at all a knock on the game, they did a terrific job on that one. But this thing is just, well I can't even judge the game to know how the hell it is. I was HOPING it would be Skyrim played with others, but I have to question if I'll ever even know.

I'm honestly afraid to give them credit card info for fear the buggy POS will then lock me out and they keep charging my card for a game I can't even play. True story. I should just eat the money I wasted on it and call it a day, logically speaking.

I never heard back from them so I'm just gonna see this hits the trash tonight, uninstall it, and move on. What a waste of 38 dollars. I guess you can't win em all.
