I started applying for credit cards when I turned 18 years old, I started off with a BOA rewards and then 2-3 months later bam! AMEX! my younger brother would say that I will go into debt because credit cards are for stupid people. My mom would say that I`m just going to get in trouble with banks- my dad aww man he just hates credit-he came into the US back in the 1960s he has bought everything in cash since he doesn't like to owe anyone anything- close minded with credit thinks it'll get him in trouble-

I have stayed at hotels, taken trips that are almost 90% covered and my mom still thinks I`m spending my own money haha - i`m like "mom take a look at the receipt its $0.00" shes like its fake!

About a few months ago my dad decided to buy a truck from a dealership- the guy just told he didn't have credit history and blah blah blah- He managed to get the truck financed because of his job but he is paying way too much interest. Now for my brother he was involved on an accident where the other driver was DUI- so now he had to buy a car, he choose a dealership since he was kind of broke at the time to buy from a private seller. He walked into the dealership asking about a car- the sales guy asked him if he had any credit history, my brother told him he didn't have any- so then the guy told him it was going to be difficult getting financed. They later checked his credit report and my authorized account came up (I had added him in one of my accounts without him knowing- took him about half a year to find out)- now he is paying half of what my dad is paying.. he still thinks bad about credit...but sort of getting the hang about it!

Dang, I have a friend who is spoiled with his parents(he is 22), I work for his parents and his mom always spoils him- they just cover most of his stuff from food, bills, car insurance they even helped with buying a new car- lives rent free and the only thing he pays is the stuff he wants.. BS

Thing that pisses me off is when he tells me don't be soo cheap- DUDE I have to manage and think ahead unlike him i dont have mommy and daddy covering my expenses.

Thanks for this useful information. Debt collectors are more aggressive now than they've ever been before, so it's better to pay on time. Besides, the one market a number of individuals have been waiting for the CFPB to start watching is debt collection companies. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau does have the mandate to do so, as they are non-bank financial agencies. The agency has also informed a number of companies in the debt collection business that they will be under CFPB supervision starting in Jan.
