Better for you to say you are sorry, you weren't paying attention- your favorite Aunt Gertrude just passed away and you just didn't realize you were tailgating. If you argue about the details you will almost certainly get a ticket instead of a warning.

This is what happened after the only vehicle in front of me changed lanes while the officer was present.

-Me- minding my own business ready to make a right turn after changing lanes, when out of sudden I hear those dam sirens.
-I pull over to the side
-Officer walks up to me
-Officer-" I pulled you over because you were *following too close*"
-Me- **no reply**
-Officer- "Can I see your license, insurance and registration"
-Me- I look for my insurance, registration and then I took out my wallet- then handed the stuff to him
-Officer- walks back to the patrol and just starts writing.
-Me- great I just got my first ticket (in my mind)
-Officer- comes back and gives me the ticket and says "do you have any questions?"
-Me- I look a the ticket *court date: 7/23*
-Me- I tell him "really the next day of my birthday"
-Officer- laughs and tells me "yeah sucks"
-Me- I tell him "how was I following too close? The only vehicle in front of me slowed down that's when I slowed down as well since the driver was trying to get into the lane you were at"
-officer- "well imagine if the person inside the car suddenly pushes on the brakes and you slam into it, whose fault will it be?"
-Me- "mine"
-Me- "but that wasn't the case I kept a safe distance while he tried to change lanes"
-Officer- "what?"
-Me- "never mind" -_-
-officer- "thank you for you time have a nice day"
-me- i didn't say anything back but in my mind **nice day you say, yeah right**

DONT argue with the cop when you get pulled over, but do ALWAYS disagree. From that minute you get pulled over, you are on trial. NEVER incriminate yourself and deny ALL accusations they are pulling you over for. If you were going 130 in a 50 and he asks you how fast you were going, say "the speed limit." never apologize except saying "im sorry, but I don't agree with you, I was going the speed limit." An apology like "im sorry I know" is technically an admission of guilt, which can hold up in court.

I just got to work a while ago and while I was driving an officer was on the 2nd lane I was on the 1st lane this time- and guess what happened?

the officer cut me off- it was almost bumper to bumper action. I immediately stopped and a bit of tire sound happened and that's when the officer noticed she messed up- all she did was wave her hand out side and continued driving. Strange thing- IT happened around the same time I got my ticket and at the same place I got pulled over at (bad luck)

-patrol number 43 -_- ......... I really need a dash cam now..
