Nordstrom Visa Signature Card kicks a**!
So when I was at Nordstrom this weekend I checked out their Platinum Visa card. I didn’t buy much, but I did complete the application and give it back to the sales associate. He called it in and gave all my information over the phone to them. Then they put me on the phone to talk to the credit dept.
They offered me the Nordstrom Signature Visa instead of the Platinum. Now this card doesn’t have any annual fee and no preset spending. I actually know about the signature cards and did NOT want it because if you don’t have a set credit limit then usually that isn’t reported to the credit bureaus.
I explained this to the phone and he said they DO actually report the Signature card too. He offered a 15k credit limit and tier one APR – not bad! Then they threw on a year of travel rewards for free ($125) and waived the annual fee. I wanted to use the travel rewards asap so I asked if there was a way I could get the card sooner? Guess what, they offered to overnight it to me!
I have American Express cards and I felt this service was on par with them back when they made customer service even more of a priority. So long story short I go with the Signature Visa, get a good APR and CL. The card comes with a lot of nice perks too. I know most store credit cards suck, but not the Nordstrom card. Since it’s issued by Visa it’s like a normal credit card and you get all kinds of benefits. What really sells me on a card is top notch customer service and when I get treated like they actually care about me. They did that. I’d highly recommend checking out the Nordstrom card next time you’re at their store. Top notch customer service!

They gave you a $15,000 CL to start with?! What's your FICO score?

Are you sure they're reporting the 15k to the credit bureaus, like have you seen it on the credit reports? That's the reason I stay away from the Visa Signature cards.

Why would they not report a card without a set limit? I thought that was one of the benefits of the signature card? Did you get all the travel perks too? Like travel and lost luggage insurance? Sounds pretty good anyway though. You're credit score must be exceptional.
