Thumbs down Target Credit Card - The Shocking Truth Exposed!

Target credit card services are among many retail store credit cards offered in the market today. Many consumers who shop at Target regularly have been enticed to accept a Target REDcard, by offering them a variety of benefits. Let’s first look at all the promised benefits that come attached with the Target Visa Card and are used to entice unwary consumers.

Target Credit Card Features
• After your first Target Pharmacy purchase, they used to give a 10% savings certificate for a day’s shopping at Target (but apparently they don't anymore)
• After every tenth purchase you make at Target Pharmacy, you will get a 10% savings certificate for future Target purchases (they also appear to have ended this)
• Target will donate 1 cent to a K-12 school of your choice for every dollar you spend at Target.
• The Target Red Card carries no annual fee.
• Target credit cards have a grace period of 28 days.

As you can imagine, a large number of people are likely to have jumped on the Target bandwagon and applied for the Target Red card. But, you simply have to do one Google search to find out how these customers fared in their attempts to get, use and benefit from the Target credit card. The internet is full with blog posts, comments and appeals from consumers who are bearing the brunt of this unorganized initiative from Target.

Samples of complaints about Target Credit Cards
• One customer on a credit card forum complained of her payment allegedly being held for two weeks because it was considered “large” and Target claimed they needed to verify it. This resulted in the a late payment since it took so long. If that's true, it's extremely unfortunate.
• If you don’t use you card frequently, allegedly Target reserves the right to slash your limit. There are complaints by customers on Credit Card Forum of their credit limits being slashed up to almost 90% for non-use – from $4,600 to $500.

Users of Target credit cards are feeling neglected and abused across the country. There are other reasons for people to hate Target credit cards apart from their pathetic customer service.

More Reasons To Hate Target Credit Cards
• The APR is very high since this is an unsecured credit card.
• Being an unsecured card, it has the inherent risk of being abused by someone with a bad credit history.
• The store-only version of the Target credit card is for the most part completely useless outside the retail store chain. Some other retail store credit cards offer their customers further discounts. This one does not.
• Allegedly, Target credit cards could actually affect your credit rating if they give you an abnormally low credit limit which is not adequate for your spending.
