Default Target Redcard application is back online

I applied for it last night and got the 7-10 day message (translation: thumbs down) after reading on another forum they pull EQ. Since I recently traded by car for a new vehicle I had a boatload of inquiries the dealer put on TU and Target pulled TU for me. So I assume that's why I got the thumbs down on that.

Anyway wanted to let people know it's back online (it hadn't been for some time) and which CRA they pulled.

Wanted to post a follow up for this.

I saw an 800 number I did not recognize called me earlier and left a message. When I got the message it was Target, they left a reference to call back about.

Knowing the CCCs as we all do that means typically they just have questions and you are approved 99.9% of the time once you answer them to their satisfaction. (Let's just say they don't call you to decline you that I've EVER heard of). So I called back, and they just wanted to verify my address and date of birth, then told me I was approved. I asked the limit, and they told me 1000 dollars. Works for me. Just wanted to update all on this.

Congrats on that card! I really like the Target Redcard seeing as that's the only discount store where you can get 5% discount compared to 1% cash back on other cards.

Thanks! That's mainly why I wanted that card for the discount. I can use that to get the 5% discount there, then free up one of the 5% slots on the Cash + card for something else other than department stores.

Target is considered a discount store or a grocery store in the case of Super Target, but not a department store.
Credit cards from banks, deposits in credit unions.

Thanks for the info MemberSince99, I've had my eye on a Redcard for a while but never got around to going to the store specifically for it. The 5% is pretty nice and I've never had a store card for anywhere before..... got an instant approval! Only $700 starting limit but it's a store card after all. They pulled EQ for me.

Do you mean for the Cash + David?

I checked my rewards I don't have the department store 5% category as one of my categories (nor do I need that now) so they did count it as a grocery store as you mentioned. Not sure what they would use if I selected the 5% department store?
