    Default Sears Card

Yup, didn't think I'd bother getting a Sears, but since it's becoming more and more important by the day to up the credit score, I decided to grab some more NAF cards.

30% APR... things still haven't changed. 2% cash-back when I can get 10-15% off sears with a competing card simple makes no sense to me at all.

In other words, I will be leaving home WITHOUT it.

If you want no annual fee cards to bolster your number of accounts, I would recommend going with major cards through banks. Store cards are known for low limits and poor service.
Disclosure: I am a moderator/paid staff of this site, which does have advertising relationships with some credit cards that are discussed. Regardless, anything I say is my honest opinion.

    Current Cards:
American Express: Blue Cash, Simply Cash Bank of America: WorldPoints Platinum Plus Chase: Amazon, British Airways, Cash Plus Rewards, Freedom, Ink Cash Citi: Thank You Premier, Dividend Platinum Select Discover: More
Primary Everyday Card: American Express Blue Cash
Primary Travel Card: Citi Thank You Premier

I would say if you have no credit cards and you applied for a bunch and you got turned down, visas, mastercards, amex. Sears may be a great place to start and if you work for sears, it's a great idea to have their charge card because of all the discounts.

Geez my father has a stout score like me and had a sears card from way way back in the hay-day. Closed for inactivity. He went to reopen recently, they pulled up his old account and said there would be a 'HI' NOT to reopen that old account instead to open a brand new account. He hung up on them... I would have done the same thing. btw he bought the new fridge on his General Motors card at lowes.

I don't think this card is that bad at all, if you take advantage of the discounts and no interest for 12 months. My refrigerator from the sears outlet was 1300 (2000+ at best buy), they gave me 10% off and i paid them $100.00 a month for the past 11 months, I have one more payment to go. The key to remember is to buy what you can afford and make sure you pay it off before the end of the promotion.

    I agree with you 100%

I also agree Sears isn't a bad store, they are wonderful store, they have great selections in different departments. I know when it comes to Macy's Lord & Taylor, these stores are higher priced and you don't need clothes, makeup, jewelry, wallets, hand bags, shoes all the time. Sears seems to be a different store since they sell tools, TVs, boomboxes, refrigerators, clothes, hand bags, wallets etc.

I'm not saying Macys, Lord & Taylor aren't wonderful stores too, but it's probably easier to charge more money on a Sears credit card than the other department stores. I guess it depends on the person where they shop.
