About LinkBacksCVS is bringing back better coupons in my area. This week I received a coupon for $5 off $25 purchase and 25% off any one non-sale item. I have no need for the $5 off coupon right now because there's not $25 in stuff I can use. Their beauty products are awfully expensive and with CA sales tax I find its much cheaper to order through Amazon even with a coupon like this. With online drugstores do any count towards the drugstore category on a credit card?

No online merchants that I know of count for the drugstore category.

The best way to make money at drugstores is to transfer prescriptions every month to a different pharmacy and get the $25 gift cards for doing it. The chains like CVS limit it to once per 6 months with up to 2 RXs at a time. Between Walgreens, Rite Aide, Target and others there are plenty to keep cycling through and collection the gift cards every month.

CVS is notorious for choosing the overpriced items to put on sale. I rarely shop there the discounts are not real the way I see it.

We got $25 or $50 for transferring prescriptions a couple years ago. Around here the service and rices we get from CVS is better than Walgreen's or the big box pharmacies. The Extra Care bucks are a nice bonus, and I found an app for my smart phne called "Key Ring Rewards" that allows me to store the barcode for my reward card on my phone, so the cashier just scans the screen of my phone.
