    Default Blair credit card account a big waste of time?

    How much do you know about the Blair credit card? I was given an application that says "SAVE OVER $100 EVERY YEAR WITH BLAIR CREDIT CARD"

    I had thought that meant a $100 offer but in little itty bitty font the paper says "based on expected annual savings of applicable offers of active accounts". I asked what that meant and the Blair department store cashier said that if I have the credit card I will get emailed coupons by being on the mailing list. That's ironic don't you think since I already enjoy coupons because I am on the Blair emailing list?

    Generally speaking, store credit cards are designed for those with lower credit scores. I am in no way suggesting that is you but it is true for the average store credit card user.

    Because of this store cards won't have the best interest rates nor will have have a decent rewards program, most of the time. It sounds like the Blair credit card is trying to hype up the card' benefits, or lack thereof, with the coupon concept. If the Blair card doesn't have a regular points or cash back program this feature may be drummed up as a diversion.

    Please note though that I am not familiar with the Blair credit card benefits specifically, my thoughts are more based on what is typically seen in the store card industry but there are always exceptions.
