    Default Sears MasterCard Hardship Program

    Hello,

Does anyone know if Sears MasterCard has a hardship program? In an effort to try to be proactive, I called Sears and advised will not be able to make next minimum monthly payment due to job loss. I have been a customer for over 20 years and have never made a late payment. I simply asked for a temporary deferment of payments until I can resume making the minimum payment. The rep said they don't offer a program for this particular card.
Is anyone aware of any hardship programs offered by Sears and specific to this card type?
    Thanks in advance.

Write a letter to their executive office. Get detailed about your hardship, your 20 years as a good customer and when you can start making payments. Be specific and emphasize you know that you owe this debt and just need 1 month or what ever period to get your feet under you. Do this tonight do not wait until the end of the month. Call the card service to get the address. Send with the mail in the AM. Also on the phone escalate escalate escalate. Make them want to help you.

More should offer programs like that. What ever happened to the "talk with your credit card" thing going on a year ago telling us to call them and work out terms
