Shane Co credit card - does it show on your credit report?

Postby Tinabeij » Sun Sep 29, 2013 12:17 am

Credit is not something I have thought much about til recently. All I have is a Visa from Key Bank and a credit card from Shane Co jewelry store. I do not know how big of a company they are but it's not that big I do not think.

Because it is not a real credit card will it still show on my credit report and help me improve my history?

My rate is high but I do not remember what it is. If Shane Co financing does show on my report then do I need to worry about it showing my high rate. I fear that if I apply for a new card and the company sees my high interest rates they will not give me much of a better deal.

**The Shane Co. credit card is issued by Wells Fargo Financial National Bank.

This from their website under T&C. Since it's from Wells Fargo, my guess is that it should be on your credit reports.
Retired, and in the process of retiring cards!

Yes, it will be on your credit report.

I have the ShaneCo card as well (issued by Wells Fargo) and it reports each month. There is no annual fee so it is fine to keep. It will only help your AAOA and utilization (assuming you don't carry a balance on it).

The 0% promotional deals come in handy when it is time to make a big jewelry purchase too.

I got the card for an engagement ring purchase, but now it just reports a zero balance each month. They may close it for lack of use, but I'll let them do it when they want and leave it to help my AAOA for now. Maybe I'll put an anniversary/birthday gift on it again sometime just to keep it active.
