Does Kohl's card report credit history to the bureaus?

Where you can talk about store credit cards, like gas station cards, department store cards, etc.

Just checked my updated credit report, and Kohls reports to all 3 credit agencies. They only report when you have some statement balance. Like say, if you did not use the card at all and you have ZERO balance, they won't report.
And they did a hard pull on my Experian report when I applied the card.

I've had a Kohl's card for four years now and they report every month to all three CBs.

&quot wrote:You can be sure that Kohls reports to the credit bureaus. I forgot about a $15 payment in April; by June the ding showed up on my otherwise flawlwss credit history. I found out when I applied for a small call loan.

Thats interesting. In the four years I've had the Kohl's card, I had quite a number of 60-day lates before I got serious about my credit. They never reported a single negative. As far as all CRs are concerned, my Kohl's has a perfect payment history. They did lower my CL from $800 to $600, however.

American Express BCE [$20K]

Citi Home Depot Consumer Credit Card [$3K]
Citi Best Buy Visa [$2K]

I'm not sure how creditors react when they see a CL goes down on a store card with no reported default. A very attentive future creditor may see it as a bad thing.

You might be able to get discounts that are nearly as good using Discover. If you use the Kohls card to save 5% on a $300 purchase, that's only $15 but would make one card report with 50% utilization. That might spook other creditors if the balance reports?
