Do I have too many retail/store credit cards?

Where you can talk about store credit cards, like gas station cards, department store cards, etc.

Reminds me years ago when I first "discovered" credit cards--I had a gazillion store cards. I think I had about 20. I was all about "labels" then, and I could get them. I had cards from stores I wasn't within 100 miles of, and some that I wasn't within 1000 miles of: Bloomingdale's, Macy's, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bergdorf-Goodman, I Magnin, Bullock's/Bullock's Wilshire; low-end stores like JC Penney and Sears--I had them by the ton. Never used half of them, but I had them!

If you can use them judiciously, they shouldn't hurt.

Nice randeman. I remember opening store cards just to get the 10 - 20% discount they would offer on new accounts. If there was a department store in existence, you can bet I had their credit card. I would pay off the balance as soon as I received the bill so I would never have any interest accrue.
