Fry's promo bug strikes again.

Where you can talk about store credit cards, like gas station cards, department store cards, etc.

Fry's promo bug strikes again.

Postby rhipsher » Thu Apr 16, 2015 7:14 pm

I needed to buy a laptop and the USB to serial port connection just for the sole purpose of sending and receiving CNC programs to and from the machines. I got one that was on the Fry's promo which means 0% interest for 12 months. And it also included the 2 year warranty for $317. Plus a few other things that my wife wanted. Whats funny is that back in 2004 I bought the latest and greatest from the same location back in 2004. A Fujitsu 17" Lifebook for $3K. It had 1Gig of ram. And now these cheap laptops have at least 4G of ram. To funny.

$317? Godd@amn, you don't need that!

And Fujitsu makes beautiful products and has always been a high-end brand. You cannot compare Fujitsu to run-of-the-mill, off-the-shelf products.

Not trying to. I already know it's superior. Fry's doesn't carry Fujitsu anymore. I asked. I just needed a cheap laptop at this time and the cheapo ASUS fit the bill. I'll never use it for anything else. It's going to get dirty. If it lasts 6 months that will be just fine. It's already paid off.

2004 is more than 10 years ago--how much was Google stock then?

Still, always fun to make out like a bandit

I picked up a new 13" laptop from HP's new Steam line of computers. $200 after $20 discount. It's my beater device, but I'm impressed how well it actually works. Despite the small harddrive it uses to cut cost, it has no operational issues and battery life is far better than expected for such a cheap computer. Blows Chromebooks out of the water and I hope they can keep improving on it.
