Dillards

Postby Troublemaker » Tue Sep 09, 2014 10:16 pm

I was looking to apply for the Dillards card as they have some real good deals for their card members. I like the fact that they give their card members a full day or two of priority over non-members.

If anyone has an opinion, experience or warning about this card please respond.

Thanks!

The August 2013 review on this site says both Dillards cards are awful. Unless one or both programs have improved, get yourself a BCE or It.

Keeping indefinitely: IHG, SchwabPlat, CSP, Discover, Freedom, ED, BCE, Hyatt
May close or PC: Prestige, Arrival, BrooksBros
AA Platinum converting into Costco

Might add: Proper business card, CSR, Ritz, Delta Gold, First Tech
Letting new accounts cool off since May

I've applied for the Dillards American Express card a few times because I heard it is the easiest Amex to get. Hopefully I will get before the end of the year so I can use it for backdating.

You have a major misunderstanding. It is a Synchrony Bank (fka GECRB) card using the Amex payment network. It is not issued by Amex. It will not backdate.

Please read the review I posted the link to earlier, and you may decide you don't want the card.

Just because a card has an Amex or Discover logo on it, doesn't mean that it's actually issued by Amex. Big difference there.

Try the Bluebird Amex... get that and you're backdating begins right there. I would get it but I'm sure I wouldn't qualify as I don't have the right mix of cards (fingerhut, credit one, progress one, first premier, and most importantly... a farm and fleet card!)
In my Wallet:

  • Sallie Mae MC $8000[1-14]
  • Chase Freedom $4700[1-14]

  • BoA UCF Alumni Cash Rewards $5000 [3-15]
Sometimes in my Wallet:
  • GM BuyPower WEMC $5000[9-14]
  • Wells Fargo Propel 365 Amex $7000[4-14]
  • Barclaycard Arrival WEMC $7000[3-14]
  • BoA Better Balance $3000[2-15]
In my sockdrawer: Amex BCE $1000[10-13, bd 91], OCCU Duck $10000 [11-13], The Sportsman's Guide Visa $8000[8-14], Chase Slate $4000 [9-14]Delta Gold Amex $2000 [2-15 bd 91], Diners Club MC $20000 [10-14] Commerce Bank Visa $2000 [3-15] Citi Double Cash $1000 [3-15]
