Contact US Bank, save the cash + categories!

Postby FutureBillionaire » Fri Jan 18, 2013 3:12 pm

Please go to FACEBOOK and write on the wall for US Bank on their page. Also, go to the cash + page and send them a message. Let them know that we want the same categories, but they can add the caps. Otherwise, I'm sure we will all be using the card less!

I will not close the account in protest of this change, and suggest others do not, because it is still an awesome card and an integral part of an optimal rewards portfolio, not to mention my highest line of credit. Nonetheless, I will contact them and tell them I liked the Bill Pay Category and am disappointed by the removal, but I need an alternate means than FACEBOOK, because my relatives do not need to see my private communications with my bank popping up in their news feed, like everything you post anywhere does for all of your friends.

Lol. I don't care that folks know that I am throwing shade at these banks. More people need to do it. They get away with murder.

Maybe I'm cynical but to me that means your feedback has gone into the circular file, and though we want you to feel important, we couldn't care less what you think. I'd add "screw you" for emphasis but maybe she's feeling nice and didn't think that too.

Ok it's partly in jest, but I've worked at enough corporations to know in general the LAST thing they care is what the customers think, for a lot of them anyway. Not all but a lot. I don't see them putting the rewards back. They aren't in the game to lose money.

They will no doubt see use of the card go down, and fewer people apply for it now but I'm sure they factored that in when they did the math and feel they will make more this way regardless. I mean I HOPE it's not just make random changes and see what happens and they actually did the math!

Just leave the categories alone and cap 5% categories at $6000 like BCP. I'll take that over the current planned changes.

Amex BCE: 3% grocery, 2% gas
Bank of America Better Balance Rewards MC: $25/quarter bonus
Barclaycard Rewards Visa Signature: 2% gas, groceries, utilities
Capital One Quicksilver Visa Signature: 1.5% everything
Chase Freedom Visa Signature: 5% rotating
Citi Forward Visa: 5% restaurants/fastfood, movie theaters, amazon.com
Discover It: 5% rotating
SallieMae MC: 5% Groceries, Gas, Amazon
US Bank Cash+ Visa Signature: 5% electronic stores, restaurants
Sock Drawered: Chase Sapphire, Chase Amazon

Definitely. I don't mind capping it and I don't mind getting rid of the $25 bonus for $100 redemptions. Just leave the categories alone.
