    In my wallet right now:
    US Bank Cash+
    Amex BCP
    Fidelity Amex
    Chase PriorityClub

I don't have any non-rewards cards, but if I did carry a balance, I would probably open a Chase Slate account for that unless I could get a lower APR on one of my existing cards.
American Express: Blue Cash Preferred (groceries, 6%; gas, department store, 3%); Gold Delta SkyMiles (Delta Air Lines, 2 miles/dollar, free checked bag).
US Bank: Cash+ (utilities, phone, internet, restaurant, 5%; drugstores, 2%).
FIA Card Services: Fidelity Amex (everything, 2%); Fidelity Visa (everything, 1.5%).
Chase: Freedom (rotating, 5%); Amazon (Amazon.com, 3%); PriorityClub (IHG hotels, 5 points/dollar); Sapphire (not in use).

*All cards are registered with PriorityClub IDine program for 8 points/dollar at participating restaurants.

I get alot of mailers for the Chase Slate. I may use that to finance the purchase of an engagement ring.

How do you all determine which cards to use for different purchases? Do you carry all of the cards with you at once? How do you decide which ones to carry on a daily basis?

    In my wallet now:

AMEX Blue Cash Preferred (groceries + gift cards only)
US Bank Cash + (restaurants and groceries not accepting AMEX)
PenFed Platinum Cash Rewards (gas only)
    Chase Freedom (5% categories only)
    Discover (5% categories only)
    Marriot VISA (Marriott only)
    Starwood AMEX (SPG hotels only)
    Target Card
Fidelity Investment Rewards AMEX (catch all for everything else)

For me it's relatively easy to keep them all straight, but I'm used to it.
