Random q about a gas GIFT card
Anyone know if there's a max/limit on a gas card purchase? I'm thinking about the chase sapphire (need to spend 3k in 3 months) but I don't spend that much over that time period. So I'm thinking of spending whatever I need to get to the 3k on a gas gift card as I fill up about 5 times per month. Anyone know if I'd be able to buy a $1500 gas gift card?

You can buy a gas gift card for whatever you want or up to your credit limit, but as far as getting bonus miles or extra cash back that won't be happening.
Here's the reason why. Gift cards you set the amount. Now you do get rewards points, miles or cash back from your credit card but you don't get any bonuses.
For example I have a Discover more card and at a certain time of year we have gotten 5% cash back on clothing stores and department stores. I could walk in to Club Monaco or 7 for all man kind and purchase gift cards to any of these stores, just because you can afford the gift cards doesn't mean you can afford to buy actual merchandise.
So from your example I wouldn't go out and spend 3,000 in 3 months just to get the bonus miles. I would spend the 3,000 in 3 months if there are things you really need. for example if you need certain clothes, for certain situations, if your company says you need to travel on business and meet with a couple of clients, then charging certain amount of money on hotels, airfare , restaurants, birthday gifts for family members is acceptable.
