About LinkBacksI recently applied for the Marriott visa card got 2 free nights hotel stay. I was planning on using it for my parents as they have a trip planned to Florida in Dec. I just found out however that only the card holder can redeem the free hotel night stay and the card holder needs to stay in the room. Following are my questions.
1. Can I add my mom as an authorized card user and then can she be eligible for the free hotel night stay?
2. How do they verify that the card holder is staying in the hotel room? Do they ask for a ID?
3. I'm planning on joining her in Florida a day later. I have a 2 free hotel night certificate. Can I split the certificate and use it just for 1 night ? That way, I only pay for their 1 night stay at a hotel and then 2nd night they could stay with me on my free certificate.
