Default Citi Dividend 5% cash back enrollment

I have had this card for several years and have just been making regular purchases of ~$1,500 a month. However, I recently found out that this card's benefit is that every quarter certain items qualify for more cash back percentage. For example, right now they are offering 5% cash back on certain holiday shopping as opposed to the regular 1%.

Does signing up for these extra percentages every quarter have any negative effect on my credit or credit report? Or can I just look at it as one of the perks of having this card and sign up for it with no negative repercussions?

How quickly can you redeem the 5% and at what tiers of accumulation?
