Bonus points for rent?
I'm moving in to a building that let's me pay rent via credit card. Considering my roommates and I will be charging upwards of $50k a year on cards, any thoughts on cards that might give more than 1% for such a payment?

First, make sure there's no fee for paying by credit card. I know my apartments charge a $30 fee, which is way more than I would get in cashback.
There aren't any cards I know of that give bonus points for rent/bills, but there are a few that are better than 1% on all spending. The best would probably be the Fidelity Amex which gives 2% on everything, or the Fidelity Visa for 1.5%. The only requirement is that you have an account with them, so you could open a checking account if you don't already have any accounts there.
I think there are some Bank of America cards that give either 1.25% or 1.5% if you want to stay away from Fidelity or Amex.
Another option would be the Chase AARP card that gives 5% for six months, then drops down to 1%. It might be worth it to pay a few months rent early during the sixth month if you have the money to do it, or one of your roommates could get the card after 6 months, and keep trying to find 5% short-term cards to use after their 6 months end.
